Beneath the Fold: What does love look like? →
mgyim: Love always looks like something. Love is conceptually simple but incredibly difficult to carry out. It is mostly subtle and therefore can easily be missed. But the opportunities are plentiful. Love looks like obedience. Love looks like smiling at strangers as they walk busily by and catching them…

WHAT? Coldplay was in Madrid!? Why couldn’t this have happened just 3 months earlier… A much better way to make use of the Plaza de Toros, I’d say.

Walking down College Ave, past Jeremys
( Seeing a huge, gigantic SALE sign in the window )
R: Ooh, look! A sale
( Already making moves to head towards the doorway with very little movement from C )
C: SALE is the equivalent to "We're open! Come in!"
Pffft. Boys -_-

I am my mother's daughter
When I was a high school student, I would often sit down at the breakfast table to find a nice bowl of Korean food (how I miss those days…) sitting next to a freshly clipped newspaper article. I almost expected them after a few times. Every Monday was the day that the Korean newspaper covered Education. Which basically translates to - SATs, College Admissions, and AP classes. No joke, I read...

The candle I bought yesterday
is the best purchase I’ve made in the entire month of October.  Just want to stay in bed all day with a cup of hot tea, my candle, and my book.

Sadness Overwhelms me
My brother took a picture of us and glued his girlfriend’s FACE over mine. Because he thinks he looks good in the picture.  Sadness. Overwhelms. Me.  What good are little brothers for anyway. He used to call me every night my freshman year….that was four years ago T_________T WAH WAH WAH.

Absolutely Honored
To be learning under the loving pastors of our church.  To serve alongside other directors who live sacrificially and humbly. To walk alongside His beautiful sheep. :)  I go to sleep with such joy today.

Borrowed words
Thank you for your witness, gift of witness. Great joy of writing is surprising yourself. Type fast. It’s the eleventh commandment. The greatest thing I’ve learned to do as a writer is what not to write, what to leave out. Take disparate things and stitch them together. Easiest way to connect is by telling a story and leave it shivering. Explaining too much is a sin. Beware of...

Google's Own Burning Platform Memo →
parislemon: This is all kinds of fascinating. It’s a Jerry Maguire-esque memo for Google. It’s The Burning Platform part 2. First of all, it’s apparently a huge Google+ Circle fail. The engineer, Steve Yegge, meant to share it internally at Google and instead made it public. Whoops. Second, while the meat of his post is about Amazon (where he previously worked), it’s all to set up how Google...

fall has settled in our city
I’ve said this before, but I really really would like a porch again some day. It’s too bad that California homes don’t have as many…they’re the perfect place for light swinging, book reading, napping and lazying around on a just-right crisp fall day like today.  I was spoiled today. I woke up to an email from my dad in Korea and a spontaneous lunchtime text from my...

when i first understood the meaning of love
I did not write this, but I can’t help but appreciate when someone can weave words beautifully to describe something that is otherwise difficult to do. From one of the bloggers I love reading. I tend to believe that our life stories, in all of their imperfect and complicated glory, can ultimately be defined by a series of moments. Unforgettable fractions of time where the world stands...

Meditating?
When I was younger, my parents would often go on these things called “Shimbangs” Basically, it’s when the pastor/minister visits church members in their homes to meet with them, build relationship with them, to pray over them and their house, and oftentimes to break bread together. Up until I was old enough to stay home and take care of my siblings, we would often have to pile...
