This was the week I watched Beginners twice in the span of five days, just because it was that good. I loved the way the story unwrapped itself, Melanie Laurent’s effortless character, Christopher Plummer’s unabashed honesty, and Ewan McGregor well, because he’s Ewan McGregor. (Have you seen Moulin Rouge?)
And that dog, how can you resist that dog. And the impeccable design and pretty shots that inevitably come from having a graphic-designer-turned-director. (Berkeley native might I add, w00tw00t) Finally, the soundtrack is the kind you can listen to all day and not realize you had on loop for over 10 times. I listen to it at work, in the car, on the computer, everywhere! Soundtrack post to come soon.
